The purpose of the article is to reveal directions and a content of work on the immediate introduction of the agricultural land market into the farming practice, considering the possibilities and expediency of using basic provisions to create necessary conditions for the introduction of market land relations.
Research methods. In the research process were used the following scientific methods: dialectical methods (for the formation of urgent factors, which form a prerequisite for the introduction of the agricultural land market); the systematic approach (for determining directions for land reform); the abstract and logical method (for outlining possibilities for introducing the agricultural land market in Ukraine).
Research results. The expediency of determining prerequisites for the introduction of the agricultural land market was substantiated. It has been noted that a process of identification and activation of the possible land market can be implemented only after establishment of all requirements and features for participation of residents of Ukraine and foreigners in this transformation process. It has been proved that the decisive factor in the organization of land relations in the introduction of the land market should be the granting of a priority right of land ownership to permanent residents of a rural settlement in the territory of which the relevant land plots are located.
Elements of scientific novelty. The sequence of works preceding the agricultural land market (at the macro level and along the entire management vertical), the role and place of the price factor, commercial self-assessment were determined.
Practical significance. The proposed approach is advisable to apply when solving an issue of the introduction of the agricultural land market circulation in the current situation. In particular, it is applicable for potential subjects of the land relations market, that are all people living and working on the land who must have the priority right for land
