Food security in the current dimension / Lupenko Yu.O. // Ekonomika APK. - 2021. - № 12 - P. 5

Having chosen fundamentally new guidelines for its development at the beginning of the XXI century, the world community was immediately confronted with the uneven consumption of natural resources. Against the background of unprecedented results of scientific and technological progress, the problem of hunger, which threatens a large part of the population of our planet, looks especially absurd, even humiliating. According to the United Nations, about 10 percent of the world's population is starving. The reason for this, along with a logical lack of natural resources for adequate nutrition (fertile land suitable for growing and consuming plants and meat of animals, poultry, etc.), unfavourable climatic conditions, on the way to solve the problem of hunger is economic inequality countries, incomes of different groups of the population, corruption and physical seizure of food. A particular point to solve the world problem of hunger is the formation of food reserves in case of war, various conflicts, natural disasters, large-scale disasters, etc., when the seemingly well-established food security regime is violated. For such cases, sufficient consumption funds are formed for normal nutrition, appropriate stocks, and food reserves, especially at each country's level. Moreover, such an approach is quite justified even for prosperous countries regarding food security. Taking into account the importance of overcoming hunger in the world, the priority of national food security in solving this problem, and paying tribute to the role of active scientific research in this direction, we bring to the attention of our readers the research results by academician of NAAS Pugachov M.I. and candidate of economic sciences Pugachov V.M. regarding the problems of Ukraine's adequate response to modern challenges of the country's food supply. We want to draw the attention of our readers and authors to the problem of assessing the impact of modern agricultural formations on rural areas' development (doctor of economic sciences, prof. Butko M.P., candidate of economic sciences Kolosha V.P., candidate of economic sciences Murashko M.I., post-graduate student Rasskazov O.I.), to discussions on the influence of different subjects on the development of rural areas – an article of candidate of economic sciences Horbatiuk O.V. on assessing the effectiveness of the development of agrarian entrepreneurship in the economy. Much of this issue is devoted to the problems of the economic theory of the development of the agricultural economy. Publishing articles by doctor of economic sciences, professor Minenko M.A., doctor of technical sciences, professor, corresponding member of NAAS Piddubnyi V.A. on the economic interpretation of the organization of administration, the essence of rural areas, the essence of the category "rural areas" – authors: candidate of economic sciences Bezhenar I.M., doctor of economic sciences Mamchur V.A., candidate of economic sciences Malik L.M., Demchenko O.V., doctor of economic sciences, professor Lopatynskyi Yu.M., candidate of economic sciences Kobelia Z.I., post-graduate student Halytskyi A.E. on some issues of entrepreneurship development in rural areas. Among other problems, we draw the attention of our readers to the research results of doctor of economic sciences, professor Koshkalda I.V., candidate of economic sciences Riasnianska A.M. and candidate of economic sciences Rudenko S.V. on the development of bio-oriented economy in the European Union, doctor of economic sciences, professor Kyrylov Yu.Ye., doctor of economic sciences, professor Ihnatenko M.M. and doctor of economic sciences Hranovska V.H. on certain aspects of academic mobility among the scientific and educational community.
